COVID-19 salgını nedeniyle insanların yaşam şekli önemli ölçüde değişmiş ve birçok faaliyet online olarak uzaktan yapılmaya çalışılmıştır. İnternet ortamında uzaktan yapılan çalışmalardan biri de eğitim-öğretim faaliyetleridir. Bu çalışma, eğitim ve öğretimde uzaktan eğitimin etkinliğini belirlemek üzere eğitim kurumlarında modern bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin kullanılması ile ilgili daha önce yapılan çalışmaların incelenmesi ve yorumlanmasına dayanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda eğitim ve öğretim süreçleri ile ilgili eğitim kurumlarında uzaktan eğitimin rolü, karşılaşılan zorluklar ve bu yöntemin uygulamada avantaj ve dezavantajları konusunda farklı araştırmacılar tarafından yapılan çalışmalara yer verilmiştir.
