THE EFFECTIVENESS of EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION and REPROCESSING (EMDR) METHOD in the TREATMENT of PSYCHOLOGICAL-PSYCHIATRIC DISEASES: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

In this research, it is aimed to review empirical studies conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Method used in the treatment of Psychological-Psychiatric Diseases. English and Turkish articles published between 2010-2020 in the specified national and international databases and with the specified keywords were scanned. In this study, the systematic review method was used by examining the publications scanned. In the review, the keywords "EMDR," Psychological-Psychiatric Diseases "," Psychological-Psychiatric Diseases "were scanned electronically. First, all summaries, titles and articles in electronic databases were examined and 105 studies were reached. Due to the fact that the studies reached were 23 books and 19 papers and 42 studies were excluded from diseases of psychological-psychiatric origin, 21 studies were examined. As a result of the research, it has been determined that EMDR is effective in reducing the symptoms of psychological-psychiatric origin diseases and other accompanying problems.
