Abstract

Stress is expressed as an effort to adapt to the situation in which the individual is present, and when the working conditions affect the individual. In today's conditions, people have difficulties especially in working life and then they experience stress. In this study, the sources of stress and the methods of coping with stress faced by public personnel were investigated. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on 200 people working in Ankara Social Security Institution. The survey consists of three parts. In the first part, there are seven questions regarding the demographic characteristics of the employees, in the second part, twenty-six questions related to stress sources, and in the third part, fifteen questions about the methods of coping with stress. Reliability analyzes were done on the scales and coefficients were calculated. Among the highest sources of stress are the options of "widespread gossip", "high workload", "disregard of suggestions" took the first three places.”. In terms of the methods of coping with stress, “trying to learn lessons from events”, “making a plan and following it”, and “trying to improve itself continuously” were the most preferred options..In terms of the methods of coping with stress, “trying to learn lessons from events”, “making a plan and following it”, and “trying to improve oneself” were the most common ways.
